American musician and actor Awkwafina began her career with hilarious hip-hop tracks that addressed sexual identity and race with a the most outrageous comedy perspective prior to broadening her reach to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical career as a musician on the trumpet. Born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the daughter of Chinese immigrants as well as Korean immigrants. Later, she began traditional and hip-hop training. While in the college years, she remained focused on her studies and studied women's studies as well as journalism. In a short period of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were offered as well. She didn't start focusing on music until she finished her studies.
